ReConnect Gloucestershire are seeking volunteers to support our peer befriending scheme and peer support groups. As a volunteer Befriender or Group Enabler, you will help people affected by Stroke, Aphasia, and other long term health conditions to find company and empathy during a time that is often very isolating.

Longfield Community Hospice

Longfield provides specialist services for adults affected by life-threatening illness in Gloucestershire. Providing palliative care at home and in addtion complementary therapies, counselling, and a range of out-patient services in our Hospice Day Unit.

Our shop in Dursley is looking for volunteers to help behind the scenes to steam clothing, tag donations and help with other activities.

Patchwork Riding for the Disabled Association RDA

We find ourselves needing more volunteers to offer supported riding to people ,of all ages, with physical and learning difficulties. Our volunteers need have no experience, as training will be given.

We operate out of Barton End Equestrian Centre , Barton End , Horsley Nr Nailsworth
GL6 0QF, on Tuesday 1pm –4pm and Thusday 9am –12pm. It is not a requirement to do both days or even the hours. We are flexible to fit in with school pick up/work hours.

Community Wellbeing Service

The Community Wellbeing Service – Stroud and Berkeley Vale is a free, confidential service for anyone over 16yrs. The aim of the service is to connect people to local organisations and groups that can help improve general wellbeing and meet wider social needs.

We have a number of volunteer roles, including befriending, administration, transport, group organisers, welcomers, activity facilitators and much more. We provide training, support and a dedicated Volunteer Co-Ordinator to ensure you are fully supported every step of the way.

My Guide

As a My Guide volunteer you will be matched with a blind or partially sighted person in your area. You will support them to get out and about for a few hours a week. No previous experience is required, full training will be given.

Home-Start Stroud District
