The 18th Century Market House is at the heart of Dursley and is home to a bustling farmer's market on the second Saturday of the month, as well as an Artisan Market on the first.

The town has a variety of independent small shops and businesses, many traditional, including a butcher, baker, cobbler, hardware store and sweet shop. It also has a pet shop, antique shop, several giftware shops, as well as some specialist bike and music shops.

The main shopping area stretches along Parsonage Street and Silver Street.

The town has a Post Office, several newsagents, pharmacies, dry cleaner service (at the Cobblers), hair and beauty salons, dentists, optician and supermarkets (Sainsbury's on Castle Street, Iceland on Parsonage Street and Lidl on Kingshill Road).

The Coventry Building Society has a branch located in the town centre and there is a cashpoint located on the outside of Sainsbury's.
