Dursley Pancake Race

Dursley Pancake Race

Dursley's annual Pancake Race is held on Shrove Tuesday each year. The race is traditionally held in Parsonage Street at 12 noon.

This year's race will be held on the 28th February 2017.

Depending on the number of runners who have entered, "heats" are held with the fastest runners qualifying for the grand final.

There is a £2 entry fee for runners and they are encouraged to collect sponsorship money. This year all the funds raised will go to the Vale Community Hospital League of Friends. The League of Friends are volunteers' who arrange a number of events over the year to support the inpatients and outpatients who attend Dursley's community hospital.

Please enter and support this fun event.

The Mayor of Dursley, Councillor Neil Grecian, will judge the competition. The Race Winner will receive a trophy. 2nd and 3rd placed entrants will get Pancake Race Medals (kindly donated by Classy Glass & Awards Ltd).

Runners can wear fancy dress! A trophy donated by Dursley Business Inclusive, in memory of local volunteer Eileen Nichols, will be awarded for the Best Fancy Dress Costume.

Entry forms explaining Race Terms and Conditions, are available from Dursley Town Council, Jacob's House, Castle Street and Daisy Belle Floral Design, Parsonage Street. You can also download a copy from www.dursleytowncouncil.gov.uk
