Budget Summary for 2024 to 2025

Press Release: 2024/25 Budget Agreed

Precept 2024/25

The Precept is that element of your Council Tax that is paid to Dursley Town Council.

Every year, the Town Council draws up budgets and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. These are usually finalised at the January Council meeting and then submitted to Stroud District Council (SDC). SDC co-ordinates the other demands from Gloucestershire County Council, the Police and themselves and come up with the rate to be paid from 1st April of that year.

Community Infrastructure Levy

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) allows local authorities in England and Wales to raise funds from developers undertaking new building projects in their area. The money can be used to fund a wide range of infrastructure that is needed as a result of development. Stroud District Council adopted CIL in February 2017 and it was implemented on the 01st April 2017.

Dursley Town Council receives a 25% share of CIL monies collected by Stroud District Council for development within the Dursley Parish boundary as a result of having a fully approved Neighbourhood Development Plan.

The funds are currently held by Dursley Town Council and any expenditure will be detailed here when Councillors decide where this funding is to be allocated.
