Walking Around Dursley

Hikers and strollers can take advantage of Dursley's Walkers are Welcomes status, a national accreditation for towns offering something special for walkers.

There is easy access to the countryside and a network of attractive footpaths accessing Stinchcombe Hill, Cam Peak, Cam Long Down and Smallpox Hill. There are wonderful views over the River Severn towards Wales and the Forest of Dean, the Malvern Hills or south towards the Seven Estuary and the Bristol area.

Dursley is one of 10 'Cotswold Gateway' towns situated on the Cotswold Way National Trail and it is an ideal centre for this long distance trail which stretches from Chipping Camden to Bath.

Every year the town hosts the 'Dursley Walking Festival', which offers a full programme of free guided walks for a range of abilities. The Walking Festival is organised by the Dursley Welcomes Walkers Group and their website provides information on all the events as well as a library of local walks to enjoy all year round. Public toilets are located next to the May Lane car park, opposite 'The Old Spot' pub. Sainsburys also has a customer toilet.
